Carnivals

The festival that commemorates the chatelaine who was the friend of her people returns to Verrès every year: various costume events in the village and in the castle.

It recalls the Roman invasion of the Aosta Valley, the legend of the Devil mocked by Saint Martin and that of the fairy of Lys who wants to destroy the town but then saves it.

The maskers of the carnivals of the Great-Saint-Bernard valley and Valpelline wear colorful costumes and hats reminiscent of Napoleonic uniforms.
