NATURE FILM FESTIVAL
The 24th edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival will consist of 18 days of in-person events in the 7 municipalities of Gran Paradiso, with 80 screenings and over 150 hours of streaming.
A geographically wider and temporally extended edition that will once again propose to its audience a rich live offer and, at the same time, will capitalize on the web experience of the previous edition by strengthening the offer with the “GPFF online” section, proposing numerous streaming events.
The event will kick off on Monday 26 July at 18.00 in Cogne with the opening ceremony in the presence of the institutional authorities and with the co-conduction of Dario Vergassola, and will then continue with an articulated programme until 13 August.
The theme of the edition will be “Building from memory”, chosen by the Festival’s Steering Committee composed of Marta Cartabia, Fabio Fazio, Luciano Violante and the Artistic Director Luisa Vuillermoz.
Ten personalities will discuss the theme, in all its complexity and from different perspectives, who will be the protagonists of the “De Rerum Natura” conferences: Evelina Christillin and Christian Greco, respectively President and Director of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, the mountaineers Nives Meroi and Romano Benet, the President of the Accademia della Crusca Claudio Marazzini, the President of the CNR Maria Chiara Carrozza, the Director of the Public Accounts Observatory Carlo Cottarelli, the immunologist and President of the Humanitas Foundation for Research Alberto Mantovani and Giuliano Amato, Constitutional Judge and former President of the Council of Ministers.
Cogne and other sites of great historical and artistic interest will be the setting for these events: the castles of Aymavilles, Introd and Châtel-Argent in Villeneuve, which will host conferences, screenings, guided tours and tastings to discover local products.
The Festival will also include the traditional sections of the International Competition with its feature films, the CortoNatura and Aria di Festival.
- All the Festival events are free of charge

Among the films in competition, which have always been the absolute protagonists of the programme, there are numerous premieres and, for the first time at the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, an Oscar winner, “My Octopus teacher” by Pippa Ehrlich and James Reed. The 10 feature films will compete for the Technical Jury and Audience Jury prizes including the “Stambecco d’Oro”.
