Tourist excursions by snowmobiles and mini snowmobiles for children.

Other sports  -  Breuil-Cervinia

The track turns out to be particularly suggestive, since a part of the way is to be covered inside the old bob track, recalling what used to be the most appreciated track in the world.
The excursion goes on, then, in some graceful woods, in order to reach a tableland from which one can make out Cervinia from above as well as the stately Matterhorn. The tour is very panoramic and also a bit thrilling, even if it still keeps within the reach of any tourist. Nighttime and daytime excursions. 6.5 kilometers length

Jean Antoine Carrel Bivouac - CLOSED

Bivouacs  -  Breuil-Cervinia

Altitude: 3,830 m
Location: Cresta del Leone del Cervino
Sleeping places: 40
Open: always open
Difficulty: D
Trail sign: no
Ascent: 4h from Ref. Duca degli Abruzzi
Coordinates UTM-WGS84: EAST 395311
Coordinates UTM-WGS84: NORTH 5092142

The hut, inaugurated in 1969, is dedicated to Jean-Antoine Carrel, the first climber of the Matterhorn along the South-West ridge (1865).

The final part of the route, despite the presence of fixed ropes, is reserved only to expert mountaineers.

Access
Uphill from the Duca degli Abruzzi-Oriondé refuge, you pass by the side of the old cableway. The trail passes between the rocks with several hairpin turns until the Croce Carrel, which can be reached in about 30 minutes.
There are some red arrows and varous cairns to follow that show the way to Colle del Leone.
After thirty minutes, you reach the foot of a couloir where the section for expert mountaineers begins. You climb over several rock faces with the aid of a rope for a few metres; continue to climb a slope of about 45 degrees on rocks and trails. You pass two commemorative plates, resume on the trail, and pass on the right of the glacier, reaching approximately an altitude of 3400 metres. Here the trail is cut off by a wall of rocks which is about 10 metres high. After climbing over this wall, you can start on the trail again and follow the cairns until arriving at the Testa del Leone and, after having reached this rocky wall, head more or less straight towards Colle del Leone at an altitude of 3581 metres.
The most challenging section of the climb to the J.A. Carrel mountain hut begins just after Colle del Leone.
You climb over several red rocks and ascend up the ridge on the southern side of the slope and on a diagonal couloir toreach a debris area. Leaving a more vertical wall on the right, you continue onto the left. On the trail up to the foot of the sloped ledges of the ridge, a brief but steep section (II) is found with bolts to secure yourself if you wish to continue on the rope. After this section you reach a broad, inclined ledge (Placca Seiler) beyond a small dihedral (III). Another short section of ledge (II) follows and then, always on the southern side with the fixed ropes, a short, exposed and inclined crossing is found: it takes you to a vertical wall which is equipped with a fixed rope.
After the slight overhanging rock a very flat and easy ledge is found, together with a brief section of trail on the north side of the ridge to reach the bivouac.

Equipment: mattresses, blankets, pillows, gas stove.

Golf Club del Cervino

Golf  -  Breuil-Cervinia

Opening: from 1st June to 15th September 2024

In 2005 the Golf Club del Cervino celebrated it’s 50th anniversary of affiliation with the Italian Golf Federation.
Designed by Donald Harradine during the 1950s, it was one of the first fifteen courses in Italy. Located at 2050 meters on the sea level it is currently one of the highest of the peninsula and one of the highest in Europe.

The course has 18 technically qualified holes and is one of the most prestigious courses of the entire alpine area, offering its players a spectacular view in the presence of the amazing Matterhorn, that fills your heart and your eyes.

Technically delicate, the course is a PAR 69 of 5305 metres; a real pride and joy of Aosta Valley golf.

In the club house, built inside a beautiful stone and wooden building, there are the reception area, storage room for bags and bar.

In July the Combinata Sci & Golf (Ski & Golf Combined Event) will be held. A unique competition of its kind sponsored by the Funivie del Cervino. It is a competition where the teams compete against each other with a giant ski slalom on the Plateau Rosà, at 3500 meters, on the first day and then with a golf competition on the second day. The event’s uniqueness has seen many participants in the last few years. They were all able to enjoy the splendid uncontaminated nature of the glacier, perennially covered with snow, to then compete against each other on the green. Skiing and golf, a perfect combination that only Cervinia with its 2000 meters in altitude can offer.
Furthermore, during the season, golf-clinics are organized on a weekly basis where golfers of all levels and ages may improve their techniques with the help of the best qualified professionals.

Course: 18 holes – PAR 69 – 5305 meters
Location: 29 km from Chatillon (Torino-Aosta highway tollbooth)
Altitude: 2050 meters above sea level
Services: café, locker rooms, practicing field, putting-green, carts and golf-cart rentals.

Closing day: None

Plateau Rosa cable car

Ski-lift complex:  -  Breuil-Cervinia

In three stages at Plateau Rosa: Winter and Summer ski paradise, but also a high-altitude viewpoint on  Matterhorn.

Summer and winter opening.

Departure: Breuil-Cervinia (2050 m)

Arrival: Plateau Rosa (2500 m)

The departures of the gondola lift (6 seats) and the Cervinia-Plan Maison cable car are located a short distance from the center of the village of Breuil-Cervinia, at an altitude of 2,050 metres, and lead to Plan Maison at an altitude of 2,550 meters above sea level in the heart of the Matterhorn ski area from where it is possible to reach Plateau Rosà/Testa Grigia at 3500 meters and Colle del Teodulo with other lifts or, in Winter season, return to Breuil-Cervinia by skis.

At the start of the lifts there are numerous parking spaces (free parking), cash desks for the purchase of tickets and a café.

From Plan Maison, a 12-passenger cablecar reaches Cime Bianche Laghi from which the cable car to Plateau Rosa starts.

The cablecar to Plateau Rosa has innovative technical features and a design that gives it a slender line and allows you to make the best use of the windows to guarantee a breathtaking panorama: the large windows that surround the cabins appear like a terrace projected into the void conveying to passengers the sensation of a journey into the heart of the Alps.

In all the arrival stations of the lifts it is possible to stop for a break:

  • cable car or cable car: Breuil Cervinia-Plan Maison
  • cable car: Plan Maison-Cime Bianche Laghi
  • cable car: Cime Bianche Laghi-Plateau Rosa

The cable car allows you to reach the area for skiing - even in Summer - but it is an experience not to be missed even for those who don't ski and want to enjoy the high mountains, the clear sky, the intense light of the sun and the crisp air.

From Plateau Rosa it is also possible to continue on the Swiss side by taking another cable car up to the Piccolo Cervino where you can visit the ice cave and from which you can descend to Zermatt. To know more

Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche Zermatt Ski Resort

Downhill skiing  -  Breuil-Cervinia

Breuil-Cervinia, (2050 m), a modern tourist resort at the foot of the Matterhorn, hosts an impressive ski area, offering 150 km of runs linking up with the Valtournenche for a total of 24 lifts, plus a cross-border connection with Zermatt, thanks to the Cime Bianche Laghi - Plateau Rosà cableway and the Bontadini chairlift, adding up to a grand total of 360 km of runs. From Plateau Rosà you can either go down towards Zermatt, or take the Ventina run: 11 km downhill from the 3480 m altitude of the beginning of the run to the 2050 m of Cervinia. The Cime Bianche Laghi area (the pick-up point of the cableway for Plateau Rosà) offers a further selection of fantastic downhill runs served by the Goillet chairlift, which provides access to the Valtournenche ski area.
For skiers who like to take it easy, Plan Maison boasts a number of convenient lift facilities (including the covered four-seater chairlifts fitted with wind shields of Plan Maison, Fornet and Bontadini) serving ski runs - some of them also connected to Plateau Rosà - for all levels and all tastes.
The Cretaz and Pancheron chairlifts provide a quick, comfortable way to get from the village to Plan Maison, while the eight-person Pancheron chairlift offers incomparable views at the foot of the south wall of the Matterhorn, as well as access to extremely technical runs for skiers and superb off-piste routes with powdery snow in winter and “transformed” snow in the spring.
Snowboarders will love the Indianpark, considered one of the finest snowparks in the Alps and equipped with rails and kickers. The park is served by the Pancheron chairlift.

Summer skiing

Summer skiing  -  Breuil-Cervinia

Summer 2024: open from 6th May 2024 to 8th September 2024

It’s Summer. The sun high in the sky, the snow beautiful. This is in Breuil-Cervinia, where on the 3,500 glacier Plateau Rosà great slopes await you even in the months of July, August.
This is the largest Summer ski resort in Europe: about 25 km of trails that can meet all the technical needs, from beginners to athletes.
A double season of skiing then on fantastic slopes that by extension, snow quality and technical variety have nothing to envy to a Winter area.

You can ski in the wide and sunny basin that is precisely Plateau Rosà taking advantage, in Switzerland, of the ski lifts, the Funivia del Piccolo Cervino( 3.883 m.) and the new Matterhorn Alpine Crossing facility ( in the international ticket is included the one-way ticket.)

Lots of snow, long trails, ad hoc slopes for every level and specialty of alpine skiing, from slalom to giant, from downhill to superg: it is no coincidence that in Breuil-Cervinia, in the hot Summer months, is home to many important World Cup teams.
Not only skiing but also snowboarding in that Gravity Park that has entered the history of riders. It is easy and convenient to reach Plateau Rosà with the modern and panoramic cable car that from Cime Bianche lakes in a single leap leads to the goal, in just half an hour from Cervinia village.

It is also possible to ski across the glacier on foot with proper mountaineering equipment and preferably with the mountain guide and for pedestrians with the new Matterhorn Alpine Crossing, the arrival of the Funivia del Piccolo Cervino where the ice cave is located. The Cave, one of the wonders of the Alps, is open every day with a tunnel of 50 m. to 15 m. deep.
