For blind and visually impaired people, multisensory experiences are the key to enjoying a holiday: taste, smell, hearing and, above all, touch.
In the Aosta Valley, various places support people with visual disabilities, enabling them to discover the territory, history, culture and local traditions through tactile experiences.
Visit to the city of Aosta
In the historic centre of the city of Aosta, near the Arch of Augustus, there is a raised model of the historic centre featuring the main monuments open to visitors, accompanied by explanations in braille.
At the Porta Praetoria, another raised model allows blind people to understand the structure of the monument and to identify the Roman theatre and the impressive city walls of the ancient Roman city.
Tactile models are also available at the Regional Archaeological Museum and at the Megalithic Area Museum of Aosta.
