February 2026 brings not only the magic of wintry nature and fun on the ski slopes but also a packed calendar of events that weaves together ancient rituals, cultural experiences and moments to be lived, all framed by snow-covered Alpine landscapes.

Traditional crafts and Carnivals

If you missed the grand celebration of the millennial Fiera di Sant’Orso crafts fair in Aosta at the end of January, you can still breathe in its atmosphere by visiting the Atelier,  on Sunday, February 1st in Aosta’s central Piazza Chanoux. Here, you can admire masterpieces of local craftsmanship. Don’t forget to explore the flavours of Aosta Valley at the food and wine  Pavilion in Piazza Plouves.

For an authentic Carnival experience, immerse yourself in the unique traditions of Coumba-Frèide. The colorful masks, found only in the Great Saint Bernard and Valpelline valleys, bring joy to the villages. Key events take place in Etroubles on February 12th and 13th and in Allein from February 15th to 17th.

From 14th to 17th February, Verrès relives its medieval past and becomes an open-air stage where history comes to life, among the streets of the village and the imposing castle, a stone sentinel overlooking the valley. The Historic Carnival of Verrès is a true journey through time: period costumes, medieval music and convivial moments create an intense and engaging atmosphere.

Valentine’s Day: fall in love with the Aosta Valley

On 14 February, celebrate love in a fairytale setting. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the archaeological sites of Aosta and the regional castles open their doors with free admission for all couples, offering a cultural experience to enjoy hand in hand.
