Courmayeur needs no presentation: the famous off-track ski resort also offers wonderful cross-country tracks in a charming corner of val Ferret. Together with val Veny, this is one of the two valleys to be foundd at the foot of the massif of Mont-Blanc.

Nordic skiing is available at Planpincieux (1580 metres), where the slopes begin,and extend over the entire valley, as far as the villageof Lavachey and, for the more daring, as far as Arp Nouvaz. The slopes, which are always marked and prepared, have many deviations, thus permittingvaried base itineraries along circuits of varying lengths, for a total of approximately 20 km,over an area especially suited to this type of sporting activity.

Planpincieux has bars, restaurants and a ski assistance service, for ski-hire and application of ski wax, as well as a ski school.
