Just off the trunk road for the Great St. Bernard Pass, on the Via Francigena, in a little village called Echevennoz, you will find the Trattoria Marietty, a typical mountain restaurant built in wood and local stone. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Marietty family have kept the place going through thick and thin, offering a range of simple, tasty dishes. The wide variety of cured meats and cheeses take guests back to the days when salting was the only means of preserving food available, while a touch of modern innovation is evident in the first courses and the desserts, prepared especially by the younger generation of the family.
