Description of the route

With the summer opening of the Bosco Express and Chalet Express chairlifts, mountain bike enthusiasts can reach higher altitudes with their bikes and enjoy downhill rides along the marked trails of the panoramic plateau at the foot of Mount Rutor and through the scenic pine forest overlooking La Thuile.

A large car park is available at the Bosco Express chairlift station. At altitude, visitors will find welcoming bars and restaurants as well as a heated outdoor swimming pool.

The 12 enduro trails on the Italian side are complemented by additional routes in the international La Thuile-La Rosière area; with the international ticket, riders can also access the trails on the French side.

There are also cycle touring routes, suitable for both traditional mountain bikes and e‑bikes, including the summer cross‑border link between La Thuile and La Rosière, which can be completed entirely in the saddle or with the support of the chairlifts to reduce elevation gain.

The trails are graded by difficulty:

  • blue: easy, for intermediate riders
  • red: difficult, for experienced riders
  • black: very difficult, reserved for expert riders

Riders are always advised to check trail conditions at local information points, as some high‑altitude sections may still be snow‑covered in early summer and autumn.
