The excursion starts in he pretty village of Niel and goes through woods, meadows and lakes, to Col Mologna Grande, which connects to the Biella district. From the hill; take a short trail to the panoramic Punta Tre Vescovi, shared with Val d’Aosta, the Biella district and Valsesia.
Description of the route
From the residential area of Niel (which can be reached following directions from the square in Gaby), take the mule track that goes up towards the houses in Gruba and before getting there, turn left and get onto the pastures of Péiri and Stùbini. Just beyond this point, follow itinerary 6A and ignoring all other trails, cross two bridges over the stream and go up into the meadows towards the cabins of Stòvela and the pastures of Piccolo Lazoney and Gretie. From here you come to Lac Gretie, and veering right, after a crag you come to Col Mologna Grande. Take the path on the left and go up the crest, where, after 30 minutes or so, you arrive at Punta Tre Vescovi.
