Description of the route

Go past the Gran Paradiso campsite, in the municipality of Valsavarenche, and you come to Praviou, where you park the car and cross a bridge over the Savara. Here you take route 5 which goes into a thick wood and immediately starts winding up to the pastures of Lavassey (2194 m). Continue on the right from here, again on route 5, among the thinning larch trees which gradually make way for wide green pastures that lead up in long diagonal strips to the Chabod refuge.
