Mountain hut Restaurant Orestes Hütte

Mountain hut located at 2600 metres reachable with a one-hour walk from Gabiet in summer.

In winter, snowshoers and ski mountaineers can reach the refuge by taking the gondola lift Staffal-Gabiet and then following the uphill trail marked with green poles toward the Salati Pass. At around 2,600 meters of altitude, you must follow the orange poles leading to the refuge, passing by the Indren dam. The hiking time ranges from 1 hour to 1 hour and a half.

The ambience is cosy and familiar and the restaurant offers vegan cuisine. Dishes are prepared from quality raw materials (preferably local and organic), using wholemeal flours and cereals and abolishing animal fats.
The refuge, surrounded by unspoilt nature, can therefore be the ideal place to try out a ‘new’ cuisine.
